How you start your new venture

Design Drawing

Find a designer who is really understand your concept and able to transform it onto the paper.

Application of CDC

Once you are satisfied with the design drawing, you will need to apply legal documentation called CDC(Complying Development Cert.). An application for a CDC can be lodged with either a local council or a private accredited certifier. A CDC must be issued by the certifying authority prior to fit-out work commencing.

Chose your right shop fitter

As each commercial fit-out differs, the shop fitter you choose should have a portfolio of previous projects they did to show you. A visual review of their scope of fit-out outcomes will make you much easier to determine their ability. You could also check if they have the required licensing and insurance in place.

Quotation

Asking quotation from your preferred shop fitters. With or without a budget, you should have an opinion that how much the fit-out process will cost you in a approximate number. A quotation will help you to manage the cost, quality and time schedule of the project.

Co-operation

When you come to this stage, you will need to introduce your shop fitter to the landlord or their representatives such as strata or centre management. Having a meeting all together is always necessary.

Observation

During the whole fit-out process, you should require your shop fitter to report the progress of the project and make sure the project will be completed within the proposal time. Otherwise, you may have problems with the landlords.

Inspection and OC application

When everything goes right, you will finally come to this stage. Get you private certifier and landlord’s representatives to have the final inspection. And then you will need to collect all required work certificates from you shop fitter. If there is no big issue, your PCA will issue the Occupation Certificate to you.
